Febuary
Saturday Feb. 1 - 10 am- noonish. Basic Stamping. Learn how to use your swivel knife to lay out a boarder, then how to properly use a basket weave stamp and beveler. This 2 hour class is $35 and we'll provide the instructions and leather you just bring your tools! Please RSVP by prepaying for the class.
Saturday Feb. 8 - Chisolm Trail Leathercraft Guild meeting 10-Noon. Join us as folks from all over the state share their passion of doing leather work. Everyone is welcome and there is no charge to attend.
Sat Feb. 15 - 10-2:00 Michael Parham, a local leather artist, will be teaching a scenery carving class. In this class each student will create their own piece and the techniques coverd will help you understand the steps to do foliage and scenery on leather. The cost of this class is $85. We will provide the leather and pattern. Michael will also demonstrate the steps to adding color and how to blend paints to bring your pieces to life. Because we are asking Michael to join us for this class we do require at least 3 to prepay and we are able to take up to 6 people.
Saturday Feb. 22 - Lacing and stitching class. 10 - noon. In this 2 hour hands on class we will cover how to punch lacing and stitching holes using our chisels. The main techniques we will cover are how to saddle stitch with waxed thread and how to do buck stitch lacing and the double loop lacing with calf or kangaroo lace. The cost of this class is just $35. We will provide the materials for the class. We do ask that you bring (or purchase) your own wing dividers, lacing and stitching chisels and a mallet.
