August 2024

Saturday August 3- 10 am-noonish Basic tooling with Chuck Berry 10-noonish. Join us as we cover the basics of floral carving. We will provide the pattern, leather and tooling block; you just need to bring your tools and hunger to learn. Class fee is $35. We do require an RSVP to insure we have enough room for each student.

Saturday August 10- Chisolm Trail Leathercraft Guild meeting 10-Noon. Join us as folks from all over the state share their passion of doing leather work. Everyone is welcome and there is no charge to attend.

Saturday August 17th - 10 am- noonish. Basic Stamping. Learn how to use your swivel knife to lay out a boarder, then how to properly use a basket weave stamp and beveler. This 2 hour class is $35 and we'll provide the instructions and leather you just bring your tools! Please RSVP by prepaying for the class.

Saturday August 24th- 10-noonish. Coloring and finishing. Once you learn how to carve and stamp your leather what is next? Coloring and finishing. In this 2 hours class you can bring you other class pieces, or a piece you have tooled and we'll teach you the proper way to background dye, apply a resist and then how to antique your projects. We will provide the supplies for you to learn with you just bring your project and if you want to have clean hands when you leave, a pair of thin gloves. This class fee is only $25, but please RSVP with your paid reservation to insure there is enough room for everyone.

Saturday August 31 - DOPP bag making class 10-noonish. This class will be taught by KC and each student will make their own leather DOPP bag (shaving kit bag). We'll provide a couple different colors of leather for you to use, the zipper and pull and any other supplies you need. Just plan to bring your favorite knife for cutting your leather and a straight edge that is 18". (We do have a few straight edges to loan you if necessary). The cost of this 2 - 2 1/2 hour class is only $65. We do require you to prepay as this class usually fills up quickly!

Saturday September 28th - Basic lacing and stitching class. We are going to show you how to properly saddle stich a project as well as how to lay out, punch and do the double loop lacing in this 2 hour class. All you need to bring is a wing divider, mallet, diamond stitching punches and lacing chisels. We'll provide the leather to learn with and the thread, needles and lace. Cost of this class is only $35. Please RSVP to insure we don't get the class too full.
